Tourist Taxes in Europe

Important Advisory

Many cities and regions in Europe charge a local tourist tax, which must be paid directly by hotel guests (or their group leader) at their hotel. Travel agents and tour operators are not permitted to pre-pay or cover these taxes, due to local laws in Europe; therefore these taxes are not included in our prices.

Some of the destinations where tourist taxes apply are:

Italy: Tourist taxes apply in Rome, Venice, Florence, Milan, Capri, Turin and many others cities.

Spain: Tourist taxes apply in the Catalonia region, which includes Barcelona. Other regions and/or cities may follow.

Germany: City tourist taxes apply in Berlin and Dresden. Other cities may follow.

This is not a complete list of every applicable tourist tax. New taxes may be levied at any time in Europe or in other parts of the world.

Tax rate and/or final amount payable at hotel depend on variables including: country, city, hotel category, hotel type, season, length of stay and more. Discounts may apply in some locations. Discounts may also be affected by variables such as season. Tourist taxes are subject to changes, as determined by the corresponding local governments.
